Pet Dental Care & Preventative Veterinary Oral Healthcare

The oral and dental health of all animals, whether large or small, is important. Good preventive pet dental care and treatment of diseased teeth and gums can extend your pet’s life expectancy by two to four years.

Dental tarter and the accompanying infection are not only painful but eventually lead to heart, lung and kidney disease. At Mt. Nittany Veterinary Hospital, we will perform a dental exam during your pet’s physical exam in order to assess the dental health of your cat or dog. We recommend brushing your pet’s teeth at home. We can show you what you need to do to remove dental plaque.

Our dental services include:

  • Dental prophylaxes (cleanings) for cats and dogs of all ages
  • Extractions and oral surgery
  • Training and education for at-home dental care

If you notice problems at home, such as a build up of plaque or tartar, chipped teeth or bad breath, bring your cat or dog in to see us so we can diagnose and treat the problem.
